Newbury College Learners on the Road to University 18.8.2010
A record number of learners have been accepted onto University places from Newbury College this academic year. This increase has continued year on year, and reflects a 21% rise in Newbury College learners accepting University places over the last two years.

Newbury College Showcases Engineering Talent 7.7.2010
Talented Engineering students at Newbury College stepped out of their comfort zone last week to present their technology projects at a public exhibition, which was held at the Monks Lane Campus. Each of the learners had been studying either an HNC or HND in mechanical engineering on a day release basis from their employer. The event was a great opportunity to showcase their work and demonstrate what they had achieved over the academic year.

A Variety Performance at Newbury College 7.7.2010
Performing Arts learners held a spectacular evening of entertainment at their end of year showcase, with over 100 invited guests and family and friends attending the College's Monks Lane Campus.

Newbury College Launches Carbon Footprint Garden 1.7.2010
Newbury College officially opened its 'Carbon Footprint' Eco Garden at a traditional summer fete last week at the Monks Lane campus. The College welcomed special guests Conrad Benefield from the Learning and Skills Improvement Service and Nigel Rayment, a research fellow at the International Research Institute in Sustainability, to formally open the area.

Newbury Colleges Art Design and Media Exhibition 2010 11.6.2010
Art, Design and Media students at Newbury College showcased their work at the annual end of year exhibition held at the Monks Lane Campus. The show opened with a private view on Wednesday 9 June to invited guests from the Newbury creative community and friends and family of the learners. The Deputy Mayor of Newbury, Councillor Jeff Beck, and his wife also attended and had the opportunity to speak directly to the students to discuss their work and ask any questions.

Newbury College and West Berkshire Education Business Partnership (WBEBP) held a free digital marketing workshop last week for small to medium sized businesses, which was supported by West Berkshire Council and Business Link.

Newbury College recently held two employer-focussed forums for Childcare and Health and Social Care. These events offered free, friendly and open discussions to those within the Care Sector and provided a chance to network with like-minded people and find out about government funded training opportunities.
