We are looking for people who are skilled or qualified in a particular subject area to join our Community Learning team. This is an excellent opportunity to embark on a new career path or supplement your existing income. Full training and support is provided.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people who are qualified or skilled in the following areas:

  • Art and Design
  • Beauty/Hairdressing
  • Bricklaying
  • Carpentry
  • Construction
  • Cookery
  • Crafts
  • IT
  • Languages
  • Welding

...but other unique and fascinating subjects are also of interest.

We are also looking for teachers to deliver courses to adults with learning difficulties and disabilities, so if you have a background in social care, we would like to hear from you.

Currently unemployed?

We are currently recruiting for a brand new programme, aimed at adults who are currently out of work and interested in training to become teachers in the Community Learning sector.
The programme will include:

  • A qualification called, ‘Learning, Employability and Progression’ aimed at getting you trained in areas such as presentation skills, understanding equal opportunities in education, setting learning goals and preparing for interview. There will also be an optional Family Learning unit for those interested in teaching within this area.
  • Work experience in an existing Community Learning course at Newbury College, working alongside qualified and experienced teachers.
  • A guaranteed interview for a teaching post at Newbury College upon successful completion of training.
  • Those successful in gaining employment at the college will also be enrolled on the Level 3 Award in Education and Training upon commencing employment.
