Overview

Build up knowledge of Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets and databases, in a relaxed and informal environment.

This workshop is aimed at students who may already use Excel in the workplace or at home, but feel they are always asking for help, or not getting the most out the programme. The workshops is also suitable for students who have never used the programme before, but would like to know how to use it, either for personal or professional use.

All you have ever wanted or needed to know about Microsoft Excel.

*Please note: The running of this course is subject to receiving sufficient enrolment numbers. Newbury College reserve the right to close, cancel or postpone a course if it has not received the minimum required enrolment number by the scheduled start date. In the case of a cancellation, enrolled learners will be notified approximately one week before the start date.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, although students should have a basic knowledge of computers.

Skills

Some basic understanding of computer use including accessing programmes and opening and saving files.

Qualifications

This course does not lead to a formal qualification.

Assessment

Students will be informally assessed through tutor observation and feedback.

Home Study

This is a short one-day course and no homework will be set. Students are however encouraged to continue practicing the skills they learn.

Work Placement

Work placement is not included on this programme.

Progression

Students can progress on to the longer Microsoft Office: Excel for Professionals course or may wish to take another short computing course such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft Office 365.
