Overview

Explore how to create tasty and delicious vegan bakes, including biscuits with a snap and cakes with a good rise.

This course will cover an introduction to alternative vegan ingredients in baking, how to create vegan cookies and a final show-stopper cake.

Understand and experiment with different vegan ingredients to create some vegan baking treats. Firstly, we will be bake, design and decorate a showstopper vegan cake that tastes great and has good rise. Then we will bake some tried and tested vegan cookies and biscuits that are easy to recreate at home.

  • Complete two finished bakes

This course does not lead to a formal qualification.

Assessment

Assessment is informal and will include group discussion, tutor observation, peer and self-assessment.

Home Study

This is a one-day course; therefore, no homework will be set.

Work Placement

Students do not need to be in relevant work to undertake this course.

Progression

Students can progress to other cooking courses such as Easter Baking, Mexican Street Food and Quick and Simple Meals. All courses can be adapted to suit a vegetarian or vegan diet, please enquire at enrolment.

Fees and Additional Costs

The price below includes an additional £5 materials fee, which covers the cost of materials used during the session. Students will be required to purchase some of their own ingredients.
