Get into the festive spirit with a day of beautiful Christmas baking smells. Bake and cook with traditional Christmas ingredients, create tasty savoury and sweet food that the whole family can enjoy.

This course will cover the following dishes: Cranberry and brie tartlets Salmon pithivier Cinnamon buns

Course Content: At Christmas you don't want to just deliver on taste but also on presentation. This workshop will begin by making the dough for the cinnamon buns and giving it the first stage of proving. We will then make a thyme infused pastry for our tartlets and whilst this is resting we will prepare the filling for our pithiviers (individual decorative pies).
Whilst the filling is cooling down we will make and bake beautiful little cranberry and brie tartlets. The second stage of proving for the buns will be under way and we will begin creating beautiful salmon pithiviers with the traditional swirls on the pastry.
Whilst they are baking we will finish off our cinnamon buns so that they are also ready to bake and enjoy at home.

Assessment is informal and will include group discussion, tutor observation, peer and self assessment, review and question and answer.

Home Study

This is a one day course, therefore no homework will be set.

Work Placement

Students do not need to be in relevant work to undertake this course.


Students can progress onto a number of other cooking classes including: Quick and Simple Meals, Mexican Street Food, Bread Making, Easter Baking and many more.

Fees and Additional Costs

The price below includes an additional £5 materials fee, which covers the cost of materials used during the session. Students will be required to purchase some of their own ingredients.
