Overview

This nationally-recognised qualification outlines what it takes to organise, manage and motivate work teams. It gives students confidence in their abilities to perform in their roles, and provides the tools and techniques necessary for them to develop as leaders.

This qualification is ideal for students with management responsibilities but no formal training, and are serious about developing their abilities. It's particularly suited to practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management, and managers who need to lead people through organisational change, budget cuts or other pressures.

Students must gain 15 credits to achieve this qualification.

  • Unit 3: Understanding conflict management in the workplace
  • Unit 4: Understanding stress management in the workplace
  • Unit 5: Understanding discipline in the workplace
  • Unit 6: Understanding the induction of new staff in the workplace
  • Unit 7: Understanding performance management
  • Unit 8: Understanding organising and delegating in the workplace
  • Unit 9: Leading and motivating a team effectively
  • Unit 10: Understanding leadership.

Entry Requirements

The learner must currently be working or has a strong background in management, they need to have had exposure or have exposure to managing a team in relation to objective setting and exposure to organisational objectives at a more strategic level to set targets for team members, in addition to having managed a team formally, conducting things such as appraisals.

Ages 24+: Our L2 Distance Learning qualifications are free to EU/UK Nationals regardless of previous qualifications.

Ages 19 to 23 are eligible for free courses if they have already achieved a full L2 qualification or equivalent. Please contact us for clarification.

Ages 19 to 23 who have not already achieved a full L2 qualification may be subject to costs. Please contact us for clarification.

You will be issued with an Induction Workbook during your first discussion with your tutor; this workbook will determine whether you are suitable for the course. This qualification is ideal for anyone who is currently working in a junior managerial role.

Skills

Prospective students must be currently working in a relevant role within management to enrol for this qualification, due to the content of the course.

Qualifications

ILM Level 3 Principles of Leadership and Management

Assessment

Assessments are completed online with the help of a personal tutor, there are no exams.

Home Study

An estimate of 96 home study hours is needed to complete this course. Study will be home-based and at the student's discretion within the timeframe stipulated by tutor.

Work Placement

Prospective learners are required to be employed in a role with management duties.

Fees and Additional Costs

Our Level 2 and Level 3 Digital and Distance Learning courses are available for FREE to UK/EU nationals aged 19 and over, who agree to take their qualification as part of a Digital and Distance Learning Programme. The programme includes the main qualification and short, additional workbook. Students who choose to take the qualification as a stand alone course or fail to complete their programme within the agreed timeframe will have to pay fees.

There may be an additional charge for work based assessment visits and other costs. You will be advised of any additional charges before enrolment
