A course for Level 2 qualified hairdressers. Learn different blow drying and straightening techniques to offer clients.

This course is about providing blow-drying and straightening system services for clients to produce a completed look on different hair lengths, textures and styles. You will use a range of products, tools, electrical equipment and techniques to provide the chemical temporary straightening system service and blow-dry service. You will develop the knowledge and skills to prepare for and provide a professional and commercial finished service to the hair.

You will also develop an understanding of possible contra-indications, how to work safely and hygienically, client lifestyle and factors which affect and influence the blow-drying and straightening system service

Entry Requirements

Level 2 hairdressing or the equivalent industrial experience.


A good knowledge of basic hairdressing skills is essential for you to benefit from this course.


There are no formal qualifications attached to this course but you will receive a College certificate.


Students are assessed through a combination of practical performed on a training head and models. You will need to supply your own models for this course.

Home Study

his is a short course and no homework will be set. Students are however encouraged to continue practicing the skills they learn and put them into practice.

Work Placement

Work placement is not required for this programme.


Level 3 hairdressing, Level 4 Hairdressing and Level 4 salon management.

Products and equipment costs are included in the course price.

Additional Information

You will need a pair of scissors, razor and cutting comb and basic brushes. All electrical equipment will be supplied for you to use at College.
