The Chairman of Governors, Mr Anthony Allen, addressed the AGM and spoke of how 2008/09 was a good year for Newbury College. He said, “Student success rates had improved dramatically, the College’s financial health had significantly enhanced since the previous year and relationships with local employers and schools were strengthened”. Mr Allen went on to give further details about the College’s achievements over the 12 months including a, ‘Good’ Ofsted Inspection and reaccreditation of both the Training Quality Standard and Investors in People Bronze Award.

Dr Anne Murdoch then gave a presentation on the many student success stories from the last year including Charlotte Vicarage who starred in an ITV documentary about her journey into film-making and Liam Lockhart, who achieved a full scholarship place at ‘The Centre’ – a renowned Performing Arts College in London.
