Creative Media Production, HNC

Overview

This Level 4 course is for those wishing to progress to a career in Creative Media Design, or onto Higher Education study. This course is delivered in 14.5 hours per week.

The course is designed to run over two years, the first year for the Certificate and the second year for the Diploma.
The core units for the course include Contextual Studies for Creative Media Production, Research for Creative Media Production, Practical Skills for Moving Image Production, Career Development for the Moving Image Industries and Film Studies
Specialist units may include: Camera & Lighting Techniques for Moving Image Production, Promotional Video Production, Music Video Production, Advertisement Production for Television, Fiction Production for the Moving Image Production, Director for Moving Image Production, Script Writing for Moving Image Fiction.

Progression

There will be progression to the HND or on to HE to read one of a large number of film, Video, Audio or graphics courses

Assessment

Assessment will be through assignments and projects from each unit.

Qualifications

BTEC HNC Diploma in Creative Media Production

Home Study

Students would be expected to work for at least 4 hours outside the class room

Skills

Working knowledge of video production hardware and software. A working knowledge of Digital Manipulation software is essential

Additional Costs

Each student is given 10 worth of print credit at the beginning of the course. Student are required to supply their stationary. Throughout the year various educational Trips are planned. The individual cost of these trips will be paid for by the student.
