Substance Misuse Awareness, NCFE Award QCF Level 1 - Distance learning
Overview
Learn about the key issues on substance use and misuse, both legal and illegal whether for personal interest or related to work. As a distance learning course a specialist tutor will be assigned to you for the duration of your course, which will provide individual support and guidance. Your tutor will visit you either at your place of employment or at Newbury College if you are not in employment for the induction.This course is ideal for a wide range of learners from personal interest, to parents to being related to an area of work and it aims to provide an awareness of the key issues on substance use and misuse, both legal and illegal.
You will develop knowledge of drug types, the effects they have on individuals and society and how people and organisations respond to misuse.
The governments national strategy addresses the issues beyond what police and health services alone can achieve by recognising that other areas are involved and they all need to work together.

Assessment will be through completion of the end-of-unit assessment, found in the issued workbooks. This assessment will be tutor marked and moderated by the awarding body.Entry Requirements
