Overview

This one day taster session is designed as an introduction to textile and clothing manufacture, looking at textile designers, manufacture methods, printing techniques, fabrics and much more. Learners should bring a pen and notebook with them if they wish to make notes.

This session is designed as an introduction to textile and clothing manufacture. Over the course of the day we will look at different fabrics and fibre make-up, textile designs and designers, printing techniques and patterns, the process of clothing and textile manufacture, factory manufacture methods, quality control, deliveries and sales.

This session is designed as a short taster course for learners who may be interested in taking the longer course, 'Textile and Clothing Manufacture', or one of the other 4 week fashion design courses on offer; 'Brand Development and Retail', 'The Business World in the World of Fashion', and 'Personal Fashion Styling'.

*PLEASE NOTE- This course running is subject to receiving a minimum of 6 enrolments. Newbury College reserve the right to close, cancel or postpone a course if it has not received the minimum required enrolment number by the scheduled start date. In the case of cancellation, enrolled learners will be notified 3 days prior to the start of the course and are entitled to claim for a full refund of their course fees.
