Apprenticeships

Getting paid while you learn may sound too good to be true - but as an Apprentice you really do get the best of both worlds!

As well as the training you will receive from Newbury College you will also learn on the job from your employer and colleagues. Apprenticeships are available for young people aged 16 and 24 years old and adults aged 25 years+

If you do not have a job we can help you find one. We work with many local companies who may be looking to recruit a new apprentice or you can apply on-line through the National Apprenticeship Vacancy Matching Service. If you are already employed, why not ask your employer if they will support you through an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship can last for between one and three years. Each programme combines going to college for 1 day a week, along with training with your employer for 4 days a week. Entry onto a programme will depend on what job kind of job you do, but all apprentices should be able to:

  • show a real interest for your chosen career
  • work to targets and deadlines
  • be willing to learn and apply your learning at work

Newbury College offers apprenticeships in the following subjects:

  • Accountancy
  • Business Administration
  • Childcare
  • Hospitality and Catering
  • Electrical Installation
  • Engineering
  • Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Team Leading
  • Sales and Marketing
