Ready, Steady...Cook!
Overview
A fun, exciting new course, aimed at learners who already possess a basic knowledge of cooking. Set up to run just like the television programme, each week learners will have to create dishes from a surprise bag of ingredients, within a certain time period. Each dish will then be judged and a winner declared! Learners will need to bring the following to class: an apron, container to take food home in, and tools they may wish to use.This course is designed to run exactly like the television programme. Each week the tutor will provide a bag of basic ingredients and the learners will have to produce several dishes within a certain time period. The learners will have to explain to their peers and the tutor what they intend to cook with the ingredients provided, the tutor will then go through each dish to ensure the execution is clear to everyone. At the end of each session the dishes will then all be judged and a winner declared.
Over the duration of the course learners will discover new ingredients and different ways of cooking them, which will in turn will develop the learners creativity in cooking different dishes and widen their repertoire.
This course is delivered by Orsola Magic. Orsola has over 12 years experience as a Chef, both in Milan and the UK, cooking and creating dishes for all types of events and settings. An accomplished Chef Patissier, Orsola has cooked for many VIPs, including royalty, Michael Schumacher and the Archbishop of Canterbury! Orsola has now been teaching in the UK for several years, alongside running her own successful catering business, and has many years of experience teaching cooking to both children and adults, beginners and professionals.
*PLEASE NOTE- This course running is subject to receiving a minimum of 8 enrolments. Newbury College reserve the right to close, cancel or postpone a course if it has not received the minimum required enrolment number by the scheduled start date. In the case of cancellation, enrolled learners will be notified 3 days prior to the start of the course and are entitled to claim for a full refund of their course fees.

Learners may progress to a number of other cookery courses at Newbury College.Assessment
Learners will be informally assessed each week by their peers and tutor.Entry Requirements
