Simple Cooking, not Simple Food
Overview
Learn to create interesting and tasty dishes from the simplest of ingredients. Learners will be shown how to create a range of easy, yet delicious starters, mains and desserts in a fun and relaxed environment. Suitable for complete beginners. Learners will be sent a list of the ingredients needed for the first session and they will be required to bring dishes to take home what they have produced in the sessions. They also need to bring their own tea towels, aprons and dish clothes.Various insights into cooking will be given and the techniques required to produce interesting and tasty meals will be demonstrated. This course is designed for beginners wanting to learn the basics.
The course will cover a range of starters, main courses and desserts in a fun and relaxed environment and by the end of the course learners will have the confidence and skills to adapt recipes as well as make a three course meal, using a variety of ingredients and kitchen appliances, for their friends and family.
Ever looked in your fridges and cupboards and thought there was nothing to eat? By the end of this course you will have learnt how to turn those basic ingredients in fun, easy and delicious dishes. Not only that but you will have gained the confidence to try new recipes and different ingredients on your own.
This course is delivered by Orsola Magic. Orsola has over 12 years experience as a Chef, both in Milan and the UK, cooking and creating dishes for all types of events and settings. An accomplished Chef Patissier, Orsola has cooked for many VIPs, including royalty, Michael Schumacher and the Archbishop of Canterbury! Orsola has now been teaching in the UK for several years, alongside running her own successful catering business, and has many years of experience teaching cooking to both children and adults, beginners and professionals.
*PLEASE NOTE- The running of this course is subject to receiving sufficient enrolment numbers. Newbury College reserve the right to close, cancel or postpone a course if it has not received the minimum required enrolment number by the scheduled start date. In the case of cancellation, enrolled learners will be notified 3 days prior to the start of the course and are entitled to claim for a full refund of their course fees.
Progression
Learners can progress to other cookery classes including speciality classes (eg Thai, Italian Cooking) or they can try some of our taster courses (Pasta making, bread making, Desserts)Assessment
Progress on this course will be assessed through observation, presentation, peer and lecturer feedback.Entry Requirements

Homework is not essential but learners will benefit from undertaking home study (practising techniques) of approximately 1 hour per week.Skills

Learners do not need to be in relevant work to undertake this course.Additional Costs
