Keeping in Touch via The Internet

Overview

This course is designed for learners wishing to know more about Skype, Facebook, email and other online communication. Learners can bring a pen and notebook with them if they wish to take notes.

The modern society is changing so quickly, it wasn't long ago that the only way we could keep in touch with a relative living out in Australia was by letter, and then by phone - which wasn't cheap! But now we can not only speak to them for free, we can see them at the same time too!

This course is designed to introduce learners to the modern way of keeping in touch with friends, family and loved ones. Learn how to make free Skype to Skype calls, discover how to keep in touch safety via Face book and other online communities and discover how to make the most of your email.

*PLEASE NOTE- This course running is subject to receiving a minimum of 6 enrolments. Newbury College reserve the right to close, cancel or postpone a course if it has not received the minimum required enrolment number by the scheduled start date. In the case of cancellation, enrolled learners will be notified 3 days prior to the start of the course and are entitled to claim for a full refund of their course fees.

Progression

Learners can progress onto other computer/ internet related courses.

Assessment

Learners will be assessed through tutor observation and one-to-one and group feedback.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, although learners should be computer literate.

Qualifications

This course does not lead to a formal qualification.

Skills

Learners must be able to confidently use a PC, keyboard and mouse.

Work Placement

Learners do not need to be in relevant work to undertake this course.
