Real World Web

Overview

Over a period of 30 weeks this course will take learners on a journey through real world web creation, using bare HTML, CSS and JavaScript to craft a website exactly as desired. Suitable for learners with no previous experience of web design. Learners will need to bring the following to class: USB stick, pen and paper to take notes (optional).

Over a period of 30 weeks this course will take you on a journey through real world web creation, where we do not rely on the limited (and quite frankly, pretty boring) possibilities offered by off-the-peg web creation packages, but where we will get our hands dirty by using bare HTML, CSS and JavaScript to craft a website exactly as we want it.
Over the duration of the course you will learn to create content for your website using the lingua franca of the world wide web: Hypertext Mark-up Language (HTML). You will learn how to make that content look appealing by adding formatting instructions in Cascading Style sheets (CSS). Finally, you will learn how to spice things up with dynamic elements on your web pages using the JavaScript scripting language.
