First Steps to Computing Confidence
OverviewThis course is a very basic introduction to computing and is aimed at learners with absolutely no prior experience in computers, who wish to learn in a relaxed and informal environment. Learners will need to bring a pen and notebook with them to the first class.
This course is a basic introduction to computing and is aimed at learners with absolutely no experince in computers.
By the end of the course learners will be able to;
- Indentify the computer/ monitor/ keyboard/ mouse etc.
- Turn the computer on and start up confidently.
- Open, write and save a word document.
- Search for an item on the internet.
- Write and send an email.
The course will also look at any specifics the learners may wish to cover.
ProgressionLearners can progress onto the 'Explore Computing for Beginners' course, which directly follows this course.
AssessmentLearners will be assessed through tutor observation and feedback.
Entry RequirementsThere are no formal entry requirements for this course.
QualificationsThis course does not lead to a formal qualification.
Home StudyThere is no set homework, although learners will benefit from practising the skills learnt in class, at home on their own computers.
Work PlacementLearners do not need to be in relevant work to undertake this course.
