Mixed Media Calligraphy

Overview

This course is designed to introduce learners to the art of calligraphy using a range of mixed media backgrounds. Glass, wood, digital and traditional materials will be explored. By the end of the session learners will have produced either a unique picture, poster or wall hanging to take home. Any learners who are left handed need to inform the college upon enrolment so the correct materials and equipment can be ordered for them. There will be an additional charge of 1.50 added to the cost of their pen, to cover the cost of delivery. Paints and unks can be messy and can stain so learners are asked to please wear old clothes, or bring an apron/ over shirt. N.B- Please bring any work, pens, home kits etc that you wish to show the tutor.

This workshop is packed full of useful tips, advise and guidance on creating beautiful calligraphy designs on mixed media backgrounds.

*PLEASE NOTE- The running of this course is subject to receiving sufficient enrolment numbers. Newbury College reserve the right to close, cancel or postpone a course if it has not received the minimum required enrolment number by the scheduled start date. In the case of cancellation, enrolled learners will be notified 3 days prior to the start of the course and are entitled to claim for a full refund of their course fees.

Assessment

Learners will be informally assessed by tutor observation, feedback and review.

Work Placement

Learners do not need to be in relevant work to undertake this course.

Additional Costs

There is an additional materials fee of 3.00 which is payable on enrolment. Learners will also be required to pay the tutor 6.00 on the day of the workshop for their calligraphy pen, which is then theirs to take home.
