Christmas Calligraphy

Overview

This course is aimed at learners wishing to create beautiful, handmade Christmas or special occasion cards, stationary and decorations using stunning calligraphy lettering and gold leaf illumination and gilding. Suitable for learners of all levels and abilities. Any learners who are left handed need to inform the college upon enrolment so the correct materials and equipment can be ordered for them. There will be an additional charge of 1.50 added to the cost of their pen, to cover the cost of delivery. Paints and unks can be messy and can stain so learners are asked to please wear old clothes, or bring an apron/ over shirt. N.B- Please bring any work, pens, home kits etc that you wish to show the tutor.

This course is designed for learners of all levels and abilities wishing to create stunning cards for Christmas or special occasions. Learners will be shown how to use calligraphy lettering to create stunning personalised cards and stationary. Learners will also be shown how to use gold leaf design and gilding.
By the end of the day learners will have produced a range of beautiful items which will make the perfect gift for Christmas, or to be taken home and treasured. Suitable for learners of all levels and abilities.


*PLEASE NOTE- The running of this course is subject to receiving sufficient enrolment numbers. Newbury College reserve the right to close, cancel or postpone a course if it has not received the minimum required enrolment number by the scheduled start date. In the case of cancellation, enrolled learners will be notified 3 days prior to the start of the course and are entitled to claim for a full refund of their course fees.

Progression

Learners can progress onto other calligraphy courses, such as 'William Morris Calligraphy', 'Next Steps Calligraphy' and 'Mixed Media Calligraphy',

Assessment

Learners will be informally assessed by tutor observation, feedback and review.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Qualifications

This course does not lead to a formal qualification.

Skills

Work Placement

Learners do not need to be in relevant work to undertake this course.

Additional Costs

There is an additional materials fee of 3.00 which is payable on enrolment. Learners will also be required to pay the tutor 6.00 on the day of the workshop for their calligraphy pen, which is then theirs to take home.
