Home Grown Flower Arranging for Beginners
Overview
Learn how to make a beautiful all round arrangement in florists foam, suitable as a table centre piece. This course is designed for learners with little or no experience in flower arranging. Learners should bring the following to the workshop: container, oasis, garden foliage and cuttings, scissors, apron, floristry tape (pot tape), spring flowers of learners choice and/ or bulbs.Learn how to make a beautiful all round arrangement in florists foam, suitable as a table centre piece.
The course will contain the following;
- An introduction to flower arranging
- An introduction to the techniques used to make an all round arrangement
- Step-by-step instructions
- Tutor demonstrations
By the end of the course the learner will be able to;
- Confidently use florist foam (Oasis)
- Cut and arrange flowers and foliage
- Create a beautiful arrangement using flowers and foliage.
*PLEASE NOTE- This course running is subject to receiving a minimum of 6 enrolments. Newbury College reserve the right to close, cancel or postpone a course if it has not received the minimum required enrolment number by the scheduled start date. In the case of cancellation, enrolled learners will be notified 3 days prior to the start of the course and are entitled to claim for a full refund of their course fees.
Progression
Learners can progress onto the longer 8 week evening course, 'Flower Arranging for Beginners', or any number of other flower arranging workshops, or evening classes.Assessment
Learners will be assessed by tutor observation and one-to-one and group feedback and review.Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.Qualifications
This course does not lead to a formal qualification.Skills
Work Placement
Learners do not need to be in relevant work to undertake this course.Additional Costs
