Lino Printing
Overview
Discover the simple, but exciting process of lino printing to create a series of prints for cards, fine art or just for fun! Lots of demonstrations provided - no experience needed. Learners will need to bring the following to the workshop: empty yoghurt pots, empty jar, kitchen roll, an old dessert spoon, apron or old shirt, newspaper, sketchbook, photos, ideas, inspiring objects to work with, scrap paper (cartridge/ photocopy paper/ sketchbook) for test prints.Over the duration of the workshop we will look at the process of producing a series of lino-prints from the first stage of designing and cutting of the plate, to inking and printing a basic image. There will also be time for experimentation with multicoloured inking and the use of collage to create exciting prints.
*PLEASE NOTE- This course running is subject to receiving a minimum of 6 enrolments. Newbury College reserve the right to close, cancel or postpone a course if it has not received the minimum required enrolment number by the scheduled start date. In the case of cancellation, enrolled learners will be notified 3 days prior to the start of the course and are entitled to claim for a full refund of their course fees.
Progression
Learners can progress to other art workshops and courses, such as printing, mixed media art, acrylics etc.Assessment
Informal assessment will be carried out through group discussion, display of finished work and one to one help.Entry Requirements
