Textile and Clothing Manufacture
Overview
The overall aim of this course is to provide learners with a greater understanding of the complete process of clothing and textile manufacture. Over the duration of the course learners will cover: different fabrications, factory manufacture, sale and deliveries and much more. Learners should bring the following to class: A4 Plain paper/ notepad/ sketchbook, fashion magazines, A4 plastic portfolioOver the duration of the course learners can expect to cover the following: different fabrications and their fibre make up, drawing textile designs to scale and with different mediums, printing techniques and repeat patterns, factory manufacture methods, sourcing, quality control, CAD, global deliveries and sales.
By the end of the course learners will have a greater understanding of the complete process of clothing and textile manufacture.
*PLEASE NOTE- This course running is subject to receiving a minimum of 6 enrolments. Newbury College reserve the right to close, cancel or postpone a course if it has not received the minimum required enrolment number by the scheduled start date. In the case of cancellation, enrolled learners will be notified 3 days prior to the start of the course and are entitled to claim for a full refund of their course fees.
Progression
Learners can progress to one or more of the other fashion related courses in the series; 'Brand Development and Retail', 'The Business World in the World of Fashion', 'Personal Fashion Styling' and 'Fashion Design and Illustration'.Assessment
Progress on this course will be tested through observation, presentation and lecturer feedback.Entry Requirements
