Fashion Design and Illustration Taster Day

Overview

This one-day taster session is designed as an introduction to fashion design and illustration, looking at fashion designers, professional illustrations, fashion portfolios and much more. Learners should bring a pen and notebook if they wish to make notes and any fashion magazines they may like.

This session is designed as an introduction to fashion design and illustration. Over the course of the day we look at individual fashion tastes, fashion designers, professional illustrations, fabrics, design houses, fashion portfolios, look books and creating your own fashion illustrations.

This course is designed as a short taster course for learners who may be interested in taking the longer course, 'Fashion Design and Illustration', or one of the other shorter fashion design courses on offer; 'Brand Development and Retail', 'Textile and Clothing Manufacture', 'The Business World in the World of Fashion' and 'Personal Fashion Styling'.


*PLEASE NOTE- This course running is subject to receiving a minimum of 6 enrolments. Newbury College reserve the right to close, cancel or postpone a course if it has not received the minimum required enrolment number by the scheduled start date. In the case of cancellation, enrolled learners will be notified 3 days prior to the start of the course and are entitled to claim for a full refund of their course fees.

Progression

Learners can progress onto the 8 week evening course, 'Fashion Design and Illustration', where they will get the chance to create their own fashion designs and portfolios.

Assessment

Informal assessment will be carried out through group discussion, observation and lecturer feedback.

This course does not lead to a formal qualification.

Learners do not need to be in relevant work to undertake this course.
