Fashion Brand Development and Retail Taster Day

Overview

This one-day taster session is designed to introduce learners to brand development and retail in the world of clothing and fashion. Learners should bring a notepad and pen if they wish to take notes.

This session is designed to introduce learners to brand development and retail in the world of clothing and fashion. Over the course of the day we will look at target markets, how to create a brand concept, launching a brand, understanding retail and franchise, store layouts and sales.

This course is designed as a short taster course for learners who may be interested in taking the longer course, 'Fashion Brand Development and Retail', or one of the other 4 week fashion design courses on offer; 'The Business World in the World of Fashion', 'Textile and Clothing Manufacture', and 'Personal Fashion Styling'.

*PLEASE NOTE- This course running is subject to receiving a minimum of 6 enrolments. Newbury College reserve the right to close, cancel or postpone a course if it has not received the minimum required enrolment number by the scheduled start date. In the case of cancellation, enrolled learners will be notified 3 days prior to the start of the course and are entitled to claim for a full refund of their course fees.

Progression

Learners can progress onto the longer 'Fashion Brand Development and Retail' course, or one of the other fashion design courses on offer.

Assessment

Informal assessment will be carried out through group discussion, observation and lecturer feedback.
