Overview
This course provides a basis on which the learner develops introductory book keeping practices and processes. This course is eligible for SFA or EFA funding support.This course is suitable for those considering a career in book keeping and accounts and those who run their own small business.
Level 2 will introduce students to more advanced book keeping techniques including:
- preparing ledger and control accounts
- checking and correcting accounting records
- displaying comprehensive financial information.
Progression
Students may wish to discuss studying accounting at Level 2 with the AAT, or undertaking some further study in computerised accounts.Assessment
There is a formal external exam held in the College at the end of the course. However, prior to this, mock exams and homework are organised to prepare candidates for the final exam.Entry Requirements
You should have completed the Level 1 Certificate in Book-keeping or an equivalent qualification or have sufficient relevant experience to progress directly to Level 2.Qualifications

Lecturers will set "homework" - exercises to be completed at home and reviewed the following week. Students may wish to undertake self - study outside of classroom hours.Skills
You should have a basic ability in numeracy.Additional Costs
In addition to the tuition fee, learners will need to pay 24 for the examination fee for the course upon enrolment. There is no set text for the course, however, students may wish to buy their own copy of the book used by the lecturer.
