Overview
Develop complex accounting skills including final account preparation, cost and management accounting, spreadsheets and cash management. A minimum of 90% attendance is compulsory for this course. This course is eligible for SFA or EFA funding support.This level builds on the skills developed on the AAT Level 2 - certificate in accounting. Introducing more complex accounting tasks including preparation of final accounts for sole traders and partnerships. You will also learn how to maintain cost and management accounting reports.
Progression
Progression to AAT Level 4 - Diploma in Accounting.Progression may be in careers in accounting and finance in a variety of industrial and commercial settings.Assessment
There are seven computer based examinations to be written. These exams are sat when the learner is ready.Entry Requirements
Normally students should have completed their AAT Level 2 - Certificate in Accounting. However, direct entry applications can be considered from learners who have studied accountancy before and/or those who can demonstrate a good grasp of basic double entry concepts. All direct entry applications will normally be subject to an informal entry assessment. Mature students and students with substantial experience in accounting are welcome to apply.Qualifications

Approximately five to six hours a week. Independent study by way of homework is an essential and integral part of this course.Skills
Working in an accounting environment is an advantage but not a requirement.Work Placement
