Overview
Develops advanced accounting skills including drafting financial statements, complex management and accounting skills. A minimum of 90% of attendance is required for this course. This course is eligible for SFA or EFA funding support.This course builds on the topics that you will have learned on the AAT Level 3 - Diploma in Accounting. You will learn how to draft financial statements for limited companies, perform complex management accounting tasks and develop your own management skills. As a part of selection from the optional units, you will be offered units for personal taxation, business taxation, external auditing etc. In addition to the taught modules, you will complete a project either based in your own workplace or on a centre-provided case study.
Progression
Progression may be onto further related study and enhanced employment opportunities within this area, with certain exemptions for CIMA and ACCAAssessment
There are five computer based examinations to be written plus the ICAS project.Entry Requirements
Students should have AAT Level 3 - Diploma in Accounting or equivalent.Qualifications
AAT Level 4 - Diploma in Accounting.Home Study
Approximately five to six hours a week. In addition, students can expect to spend about 30 hours during the entire academic term for preparation of their ICAS Project Report. Independent study by way of homework is an esssential and integral part of this course.Skills
