Careers and Professional Development Loan

A Careers and Professional Development Loan allows a learner to borrow anything from £300 up to £10,000. This will assist to fund up to two years of learning plus up to one years practical work experience, where this forms part of the course. You can apply for a Careers and Professional Development Loan with Barclays, The Co-operative Bank or Royal Bank of Scotland. The Young People's Learning Agency (YPLA) pays the interest on the loan while the learner is learning and for up to one month afterwards. The learner repays the loan to the bank over an agreed period at a fixed rate.
